The Abandoned Ruins is a quest-related dungeon on the Utraean Peninsula, the multiplayer world in Dungeon Siege.
Map[]

Description[]
The Abandoned Ruins are stone Utraean ruins just to the north of Grescal. They are haunted by high-level enemies, and nobody from Grescal would dare enter. The ruins hold 2 important things to the people; the Grescal Stone, and a reservoir of valuable water. It is rather small, especially compared to the sandstone caves above it.
This dungeon is one of the hardest in the game; despite having only 81 enemies; its compact size, combined with the enemies' high levels, make for a difficult time.
There are 4 treasure rooms; one is off to the left behind a set of hidden doors, another is in the open and guarded by Mucosae, the main treasure room is guarded by the majority of the enemies, and behind that is the chamber which holds the 4th chest and the Grescal Stone, guarded by Kells and Quadscales. The water chamber is loaded with Kells, Torecks, and Wraith Warlocks.
Chest-running[]
To reach the Ruins, follow the torches leading away from the spell vendor's tent in town. As you battle your way through the dungeon, you will find four high-grade treasure chests that mostly duplicate the properties of the Chamber of Stars vault in the single player campaign. They hold items conforming to the ranges listed below.
- One magic weapon (140-145) or magic body armor piece (420-460)
- One to two of either a rare weapon (148-160), rare armor coverage (340-370), or rare wildcard (148-160)
- Two of either a unique weapon (148-160), unique armor coverage (340-370), or unique wildcard (148-160)
