Arhok is a small, walled town in the frigid northwestern corner of Aranna.
It is the closest human settlement to the Island of the Utraeans which lies further northwest, across the Aran Ocean. The town has a small population and relies on storage during the harsh winter. Arhok is surrounded by wildlife such as wolves, spiders and more. There are two working displacers that leads to Arhok Cold Storage and Hall of the Lost where there is another displacer inside that leads to the Island of the Utraeans.
Description[]
The town has two large gates, that are constantly guarded by the town guards. Each gate is heavily manned, guarded by guards and watchtowers. The two stony watchtowers can be seen towering over the wall, allowing the archers to scan the surrounding and alert others when seeing any potential threats. The watchtowers have a small wooden hut with a roof and a round platform that allow the archers to move around easily. Each watchtower has their own sliding platform that allows the guard to pull the wooden lever in order to make the platform slide up and down, similar to an elevator.
- At the centre of the town is a Mages’ Guild, where the shopkeeper sells her potions, spells, spell books and more. The shop is pentagon-shaped, similar to a cog. There are incenses inside which are possibly used to ward evil spirits away.
- Next to the Mages’ Guild by the eastern side of the town is a small stable which is called Raab’s Corral. The owner, Raab, looks after the last remaining mule in town.
- Next to Raab's Corral is the two-storey inn. One of the rooms upstairs is a mess since one of the villagers woke up from his nightmare.
- There are two houses near the Mages' Guild.
- There is a blacksmith at the front of the hill, where the smith is resided and sells his armours and weapons.
- There are two displacers on a small hill, facing the forge at the opposite side. One of the displacers goes to Arhok Storage Cave and another to Hall of the Lost.
- The Hero’s house sits on the hill at the back of the town, overlooking the Forge and the displacers. The bundle of straws with painted target can be seen standing on the eastern side outside the house, where the hero can be seen training with a bow during the first cutscene.
- There is a small stable standing at the western side of the house where there's a haystack. Behind the house is a well which can be used for storing water.
- Inside the house is a bed, a fireplace, and a table with chairs and a candle on top.
- Underneath the house is a small cellar where the hero store armours, foods and more. The room contains a shelf of books and vials and an armoury that holds his family armour. The room also has a wheelbarrow, a bath and two long chairs. There is crates and barrels along with sacks of foods inside.
History[]
Arhok was a small trade post in the Northern mountains and was being used as one of the few routes that connected Ehb to the Plain of Tears and Iliyara. The town had been built several decades before Gom's escape from his dungeon. Arhok was established in the matter of a year with a small population, a 10th Legion garrison, and heavy defenses to defend from raiders who often tried to enter Ehb. Trade quickly picked up when Ehb's prosperity was learned of in Iliyara and the Plain of Tears, and Arhok prospered.
