Some of the mutilated creatures the Familiar Surgeons create, like the Bound Dryads, have a twisted beauty and craftsmanship to them. Others seem more like cruel jokes – misshapen freaks, grated together out of spare parts.
Crawlers are little more than leftover torsos given life. They scrounge through the discarded meat and offal of the Surgeons’ experiments, constantly eating to try to satisfy their insatiable hunger.
