Crystwind Townstone is a secondary quest on the Utraean Peninsula, the multiplayer world in Dungeon Siege.

Description[]

Talk to Utraean Priest Sarden to fulfill "Travel to Crystwind" and begin "Crystwind Townstone." Sarden advises you to flash your signet ring and ask around about the stone. As it happens, the Townstone is in the hands of another visitor, Trella Lauron. She wants to trade it for the "Rune of Diamonds," a unique object possessed by a Krug Shaman just southwest of town. This puts an extra, very short quest in the journal, The Diamond Runestone. The reward offered by Priest Sarden for finding the Townstone is barely even worth picking up to pawn, but the Townstone itself is required to complete The Utraean Circle.

Quest-related[]

Utraean Priest Sarden
  • "Ahh, Priestess Kelti speaks highly of you. We here in Crystwind could also use your help, if you have the time. Without our Townstone, no one in the Society will be able to experience the wonders that lay ahead."
  • "When all the Townstones of the Circle are assembled again in Hiroth, all citizens of the land will be allowed to pass through the Basilicus. Why else would the Utraeans construct the place, if not to provide access for all? The ruins outside Crystwind show evidence of a terrible battle waged with all sorts of incomprehensible magicks. I am certain that is what led to the closure of the Basilicus to everyday townsfolk. If the Legion could travel through the H.U.B., it'd be much easier to destroy these piddling Krug once and for all."
  • "I'm getting ahead of myself; our Townstone is missing. We kept the Crystwind Hammer Stone hidden by passing it down amongst our families every few years. Only a few ever knew where it might be found at one time. However, a few years ago, there was a terrible sickness that swept through the town. No one remaining knows who had the Townstone last, or where it can be found. With the constant Krug invasions in the mines, I've not had a chance to do much searching. If you could track it down and return it to me, I would be most grateful."
  • "You don't know where to start? Well, you might want to try speaking to the townspeople. If you show them Priestess Kelti's signet ring, they might be willing to discuss the Townstone with you."
  • "What? You found the Crystwind Hammer Stone? By the gods, that's it! Well done, friend! I admit I was not confident that it would be found. Perhaps the Society really will have a chance to prove my theory... Hmmm."
  • "Please accept this humble offering as a thanks from the town of Crystwind. I'm certain Utraean Apprentice Flessan in Fallraen would be honored to have your help as well, if you would like to continue helping the Society with this momentous task."
  • (already have stone) "By the gods, friend, you have found the Crystwind Hammer Stone! I did not truly think we would ever succeed in testing my theory... But thanks to you, perhaps it really will happen as I'm hoping!"
Trella Lauron
  • "I was searching for a particular runic stone rumored to be around the ruins here when the troubles began. I lost my assistant and faithful old mule to a Krug shaman and his filthy escort! Legend has it that the rune is shaped like a diamond and cannot chip nor break. I swear I glimpsed it under a bush when the Krug attacked. If you happen to journey that way and come across it, I'll reward you well if you bring it back...I noticed you speaking with that phony Priest Sarden. I think I might know what you're looking for, if you catch my drift."

Background[]

Cindra Garther
  • "My son used to collect rocks, but I tossed them all in a tailing pile in the mines when he left to join the Legion."
Smith Jerena Strongblade
  • "Plenty of goods for all, so wait your turn and we'll all get along just fine. I don't specialize in rocks, so you'll have to talk to someone else if that's what you want."
Karn Lilhammer
  • "You want to talk about stones? If this dry weather keeps up, even the mossy ruins to the west will crumble to dust. Seems the eastern grasslands turn browner every day. What with the mines producing fewer crystals all the time, it won't be long before there'll be no more 'cryst' in Crystwind."
