Shortcut:
DS:SHORT

This is a DSWiki project reference page.

The complete list of available DSWiki shortcuts can be found at DS:LIST.

What is a DSWiki shortcut?[]

"Shortcuts" in DSWiki are a specialized type of Redirection page that can be used to get to a DSWiki project reference page more quickly.

How to use DSWiki shortcuts[]

A DSWiki shortcut can be entered into the DSWiki search box to quickly bring you to a reference page. It helps if you like the page or you are working on that page and it takes a long time to get to.

For example, you can type "DS:C" into the search box and click the "Go" button to get to the DSWiki "Copyrights" reference page, instead of having to type "Dungeon Siege Wiki:Copyrights".

Alternatively, you can use the shortcut in the URL (web address). For example, you are currently viewing the Dungeon Siege Wiki:Shortcut page in English. The URL is http://dungeonsiege.wikia.com/wiki/Dungeon_Siege_Wiki:Shortcut. You could get from here to the Dungeon Siege Wiki:Copyrights project reference page by replacing "Dungeon Siege Wiki:Shortcut" with "DS:C" in the URL (web address) field (followed by "Enter").

Shortcuts are presented in all capital letters ("All-Caps"), but the search box is case-insensitive. For example, in the search box, you can type "tes:c" instead of "DS:C".

However, using the URL method typically requires that you match the capitalization of the shortcut.

DSWiki shortcut policy[]

Reserved for DSWiki project reference pages (Dungeon Siege Wiki: namespace) only.

Adding shortcut link boxes[]

A shortcut link box (the "shortcut template") is added to the entry source ("Editing" page) using {{title-shortcut|DS:<x>}}.
For example, placing the shortcut template and substituting SHORT for <X> gives the template viewable at the top of the page: {{title-shortcut|DS:SHORT}}
