Elandir

Elandir, Leader of the Agallans

Elandir is the legendary leader of the Agallan giants. He has been known by many epithets throughout the history of Aranna, with the Humans knowing him as Elandir the Wise, while the Elves know him best as Elandir the Coward, or Elandir the Betrayer. His most universal title, however, is that which proclaims him to be the First Man of the First Race.

Biography[]

Exodus from Aranna[]

At the dawn of the First Age, Elandir led his people into the Agallan Peaks of eastern Aranna, agreeing to stay out of the affairs of Zaramoth, the last of the Utgards, for some unknown concession by the Unmaker.

However, Elandir and his kin broke this pact, and forged Azunai his mystical shield in order to challenge the Sword of Zaramoth. The Shield, which was missing a crucial fragment that had been lost during its creation, shattered when it met the Sword, an event that sparked the First Cataclysm.

Just before the Cataclysm struck however, several of Elandir's trusted advisers betrayed their people, and sent the Agallan capital of Agalla crashing into the sea. The leader of this conspiracy, a woman named Malith, was bound to the Throne of Agony, and her fellows were cursed, their size and longevity stripped from them.

The remaining Agallans were horrified by the destruction wrought by their creation, and secluded themselves even further from the outside world.

Dungeon Siege II[]

Centuries later, a descendant of Azunai completed the Agallan Trial beneath Kalrathia, and came to the Agallan Peaks to ask Elandir and his kin to reforge the broken Shield in order to stop the mad tyrant, Valdis, who had taken up Zaramoth's sword as his own. The Agallans were cautious at first, but when they discovered that this hero carried the Lost Fragment, they remade the artifact. When the Sword and Shield met once again atop Zaramoth's Horns, the Sword shattered as it struck the Shield, but the result was much the same, bringing about the Second Cataclysm.

Throne of Agony[]

A group of heroes found their way to the Agallan Peaks from the Broken Lands where Agalla fell, and Elandir told them the whole history of Malith's betrayal. He revealed that the only way to stop her once and for all was to raise Agalla from the seafloor by activating an ancient Agallan Megalith upon the Isle of Mists.

Elandir wished them good luck in their quest.
