The Forest Troll is a hostile creature in Dungeon Siege.
Description[]
The Forest Troll is a large, gangly biped with black fur. They have yellow eyes, small pointy ears, having unusually long forearms, and wearing dark loins. They are capable of talking verbally and being somewhat primitively intelligent, since the adventurers heard them talking about a large telescope in the Dark Jungle. The trolls are very sociable and come in small packs, which can be troublesome for the travelers. Despite being capable of talking, these creatures usually let out the growling and grunting while attacking the adventurers.
Encountered in old-growth forests, it appears to be pack-oriented and devoted to attacking travelers in the cramped routes through these areas. To this end it wields a spiked Forest Club which is periodically dropped when the troll is slain.
Packs of trolls will prove to be tiresome battles due to their high health ratings and an unusual tactic they employ. During battle a distressed troll is likely to disengage and flee to regenerate health. Players will be disengaged as well when this happens, temporarily, but should beware of giving chase deeper into the woods and dragging in more trolls.
