Istaura is a legendary Elven female warrior of antiquity. She was the sister of the wizard Isteru. Together they "brought their people out of the Age of Darkness" and led them to prosperity.
Biography[]
The exact time of Istaura's birth and life is not known to either Isteru, but it was certainly before the First Cataclysm, as the Elven Prism created by Isteru served to protect against the effects of this cataclysm. The power of these heroes was truly great: they raised mountains and planted entire forests in order to create a place in which their people could safely exist[1].
It is not known what form of magic Istaura wielded or wielded, but she is often referred to by elves as a warrior or guardian. [2]. Apparently, she guarded her people, or, perhaps, was a judge, as evidenced by her unique axe in the second part of the game - Justice of Istaura.
Istaura was one of those who confronted Arinth when he unleashed his wrath on the Vai'lutra Forest. Together with her brother and other great elves, she went to the corrupted part of the forest and entered into battle with him, the outcome of which was the imprisonment of Arynth deep in the underground prison[3].
5 centuries after this event, Istaura died of unknown causes. Seven days after that, a new scourge fell upon the elves - Familiars[4]. This mysterious race was not afraid of death and fought so fiercely that without Istaura, the elders of the elves were ready to give up and leave their home. However, a new hero named Lorethal soon appeared, who was able to protect the people and drive away the invaders.
