And the old witch spoke to the assembled clans saying, “Remember, brothers and sisters, the land that gave birth to our people… the Sunset Realm, Lescanza, upon the Sea of Shadows. It was in her purple valleys that our bloodline was born, and one day we must reclaim what is ours.”
Then a child stepped forward and asked the question that was on everyone’s lips. “But Grandmother… if Lescanza was so beautiful, why did we leave?”
“When the evil Seck came to our land from across the coal-black sea, they enslaved our people and mingled their foul blood with ours. For centuries, we lived as thralls, while the Seck despoiled our lands.”
“But still we did not leave?” the child asked.
“No. Even then, we did not go by choice. The Imperial Legions overthrew the Seck and scoured our country. They cast us to the winds, and we have wandered the empty places of the world ever since. But one day, our land will be born anew. That is why we must always remember, for on that day, we will return together to the land of our birth, and our exile will finally end…”
