Meren Townstone is a secondary quest on the Utraean Peninsula, the multiplayer world in Dungeon Siege.
Description[]
Priest Tas of Meren wants someone Marked with Fire to fight their way through the Cloud Forest and bring the Fish Stone back from its resting place, a landmark called the Temple of the Stars.
Moving through the forest, you will eventually find a gorge, as well as the campsite of Verrus, a vendor. The simplest path to the Meren Townstone is to hug the right wall after crossing the footbridge over that gorge. The Legion built a convenient, forward-calibrated displacer pad linked to Meren near the little temple.

- "Have you ever looked at the sky on a clear night? The stars are beautiful...deep and lustrous like a newly polished blade. I know why all that's left of the Utraeans are dusty ruins and unknown artifacts. They went there, to the sky, to start a new life... And they left their keys behind for those wise enough to follow them. We call them Townstones, but they are really just pieces of a puzzle. When assembled together in their natural state, in the ruined Circle in Hiroth, they will open the way to the ethereal realms of the Utraeans. I cannot leave this post until the time is ripe, but you, you are the One Who Gathers. You may enter the Sacred Temple of the Stars deep in the forest to the south. The Meren Fish Stone rests there upon the altar, take it and return to show me that you have it."
- "The Temple is in disrepair, yes, but we thought it a fitting testament to the Utraeans. We built it deep in the southern Cloud Forest to keep it safe from common passersby. It is a bit of a trek, aye, but you will find it with persistence."
- "Aye, you have it safe and sound. 'Tis a wondrous piece of craftsmanship, is it not? They say it was carved from the entire skeleton of some ancient sea-faring creature. Very well then, you should find your way to Lang. Priestess Janeira will be waiting for you. She may have been a founding member of the Utraean Circle Society, but she is still a witch through and through, and will be watching you wherever you go."
- "Priestess Janeira will have my head on a platter if you keep dallying. The sun hasn't come out in months; I could swear she's behind it. Blasted witch."

- "Take care journeying through the Cloud Forest, friend. There have been an unusual number of bandit raids on Meren of late, so best keep your eyes open."
- (low) "I've been around a fair bit and seen all sorts of folk, and I can tell just by looking at you that you won't last a minute out there."
- (high) "Such a pleasant sight it is to see an adventurer setting out for a walk. With your obvious expertise, it will be a mere walk, you know. Not much you need to be wary of around here!"
- Ranger, temple
- "Hail, friend! Come to see the Sacred Temple of the Stars for yourself, have you? It's just south along the ridge here, can't miss it. Once you've paid your respects, you'll be wanting to visit Lang, I'll bet. You're a fair ways off the main path, but you can rejoin it if you follow the eastern trail here and take the south fork into the hills. I've still got some work to do cleaning up the old Displacer Platform, so run along now and keep your eyes out for bandits in the trees. They're as bold as wolves these days, I'm afraid. "
