The Punisher is an undead monster in Dungeon Siege.
There are other giant skulls encountered before this type; they include:
- Rector
- Possessed Skull
- Punisher
General[]
A Punisher is a late-game subtype of the Rector. The Rector is an oversized, disembodied skull conjured through necromancy. It would appear as though the black arts were employed to reanimate an ordinary human skull, granting it unnaturally large dimensions and slowing the decomposition of the soft tissue contained within.
Covered in flayed tissue and blood, the Punisher has an even more ghastly appearance than the rector. The Punisher hovers over the ground and can move quickly. Two flaming spheres in its eye sockets allow it to perceive living creatures, which it can then harrass with a powerful ranged magical attack.
Attack[]
The Punisher attacks by launching an explosive skull from its mouth that deals heavy damage. The firing rate of this ability is slow, but the speed of the projectile is such that it will be difficult to dodge once launched. The creature has a poor health and armor rating; this combined with the strength of its attack makes it a high-priority target.
When approached, the Punisher is likely to retreat at least once, causing characters to lose focus and temporarily disengage.
