Queen Roslyn

Queen Roslyn is the daughter of King Roland, and the last surviving member of the royal family of Ehb by the time of Dungeon Siege III. Following Jeyne Kassynder's defeat at the hands of the 10th Legion, she would reclaim leadership of the kingdom.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Roslyn was born around 1277, amidst the civil war between Ehb's royal family, and the Azunite fanatics under Jeyne Kassynder. At age 14, Roslyn was forced to flee into the Glitterdelve Mine after Jeyne Kassynder attacked the royalist stronghold of Glacern, killing the rest of the royal family and leaving Roslyn the sole heir.

She was crowned Queen of Ehb, and would continue her forefathers' war.

Dungeon Siege III[]

With the revival of the 10th Legion in 1294, Queen Roslyn allied with them, despite continuing belief by many that the Legion had slain her grandfather, King Hendrik. Her head general, Lord Devonsey, worked alongside the Legion to shut down the Glitterdelve Mine's Stonestream, catching Jeyne Kassynder's forces in an explosion caused by the resulting build-up of volatile gases.

Roslyn was surprised to learn that Jeyne Kassynder was an illegitimate daughter of King Hendrik, making the woman who most wanted to kill her her aunt. Moving against Jeyne's citadel, the Spire of Azunai, the combined might of the Roslyn's supporters, the 10th Legion, and the mechanical army of Stonebridge crushed the zealot's army, forcing her to flee to the Mournweald, where Jeyne sought to revive the Creator Gods of old.

Jeyne was stopped by the 10th Legion, however, and she surrendered herself to them. Roslyn held few ill feelings for her aunt, and welcomed her aid in reuniting the kingdom of Ehb after the many long years of war.

Character[]

Roslyn has a very gentle and kind, but at the same time a strong character. One gets the impression that she practically does not know how to hold a grudge against people. She rarely speaks badly of anyone, and one of the few exceptions is her grandfather: if she even sympathizes with Jane, especially after the truth about her origin was revealed, then she openly calls Gendrik a "monster" (and that, according to her , his own children hated him). Some even claim that she is too soft-hearted to take the throne: for example, after defeating the Azunites, she will ask the legionnaires to save Jane's life, which some of them find at least strange.
