Dungeon Siege Wiki

Dungeon Siege contains a variety of ranged weapons at the disposal of the player, from simple Peasant Bows right up to Legendary Long Backed Bows as well as Crossbows, Grenade Launchers and Machine Guns.

Bows are available to the player right from the start of the game in both Campaign and Multiplayer.

There is also a large variety of guns in Dungeon Siege. And no, not the old fashioned musket. The ones in Dungeon Siege 1 include tasers (Lightning Gun), 3 & 4-barrel Gatling guns (dragon minigun), flamethrowers, & grenade launchers. Invented that game by the Utraeans, the technology was learned by their slaves, the Goblins. After the collapse of the Utraean Empire, the Goblins remain the most widespread users of the technology, which also includes robots, tanks, & helicopters.

Trivia[]

  • The strongest bow available in Dungeon Siege is the Long Backed Bow, capping out with a damage ratio of a high 328 and a low 280. This makes it stronger than any crossbow, despite crossbows having clear advantage during the mid and late game sections.
  • For unknown reasons, Crossbows have the longest range, shortest delay in-between shots ingame and have no reload animation. In the real world, all these values are the direct opposite in comparison to regular bows.
  • Krug Rocks are not available for players outside of modding as they are not dropped by Krug Chuckers upon death.
  • The internal documents refer to all grenades fired by both player and enemy weapons as Pineapples. Additionally, since all grenades have a small life value and are not considered invulnerable, prepared players are able to detonate them prematurely with AOE magic spells.
  • The Goblin-crafted Grenade Launcher has the longest delay in-between shots ingame, a full two seconds between rounds. This is followed up by the Chicken Gun with a half second delay in-between shots.
  • The guns brought from the original Dungeon Siege game into Legends of Aranna were nerfed in power.
