Sanctuary Door

Melee Sign

Sanctuary Doors is the name given to the locked treasure doors found in various locations in Dungeon Siege II.

Players can come across various Sanctuaries, which are essentially treasure rooms, each Sanctuary possesses a Sanctuary Door that is locked by a magical spell and can only be opened by using an appropriate kind of attack on it. This is similar to the training dummies that players cut through earlier.

Sanctuary Doors can be found in various locations throughout the game. To open the doors, players must have the appropriate level of skill in one of the four main Classes: Melee, Ranged, Nature, or Combat Magic. Once the door is opened, players will find a chest inside that is guaranteed to drop either a Rare or Magic item. The items found in the chest are intended strictly for the classes that opened the door, except for rings and amulets, which can only be tied to a certain level of the character. The level of items found in the chest is approximately equal to the level required to open the Sanctuary Door.

Each Sanctuary Door is adorned with a specific sign that corresponds to the class required to open it. For example, the Melee sign will appear on a Sanctuary Door that can only be opened by a character with a high level of Melee skill. It is important to note that the items found behind the Sanctuary Doors can be quite valuable, making it worth the effort to develop the required skills in order to open them.

Upon opening the Sanctuary Door, you will find a chest that is guaranteed to contain valuable loot. Inside, you can expect to find one of two types of items: Rare items, which almost always drop from the chest. Magic items, which are rarer than the first type.

The level of the items found inside the chest is roughly equivalent to the level required to open the Sanctuary Door. Therefore, the higher your character's level and the more difficult the Sanctuary Door is to open, the better the loot you can expect to find.

Description[]

The origin of the sanctuary doors are shrouded in darkness. These small treasure chests, with doors sealed with magic, will bestow hospitality on any traveler who can penetrate them. Storerooms are usually found along old trade routes, on the ruins of ancient civilizations - in distant, dangerous areas where only a desperate traveler would dare to wander.
