Battle Overview[]
First Battle[]
The first battle in this fight was between the Seck and the 10th Legion. The 10th Legion was not prepared for a Seck invasion. A scout had spotted Seck in the woods several weeks ago but didn't report it because he thought everyone would laugh at him for being mad.
The Seck army caused considerable damage to the Fort. A well placed fireball from a catapult put a large hole in the North Western wall which would have burned down the fort if it was not doused quickly. However the army was not a large one and was not very strong as only a few Seck had been released from the Vault of Eternity.
The 10th Legion had the advantage of home ground and as such, were able to destroy the entire Seck Army except for Gresh who stayed back.
Second Battle[]
The Second Battle occured very shortly after the First Battle. A large army of Droog poured out of the mountains, under the control of Gresh. This army was much better equipped than the Seck and even managed to get past the gates. To the surprise of the 10th Legion, they also had a prisoner with them, Sikra, who they dragged underground through the large gates at the back of the fort. The Legion lost most of their soldiers in this battle.
Third Battle[]
The third battle was more of an extended siege. Gresh raised the corpses of the dead Seck and the dead legionnaires to fight the 10th Legion. The Legion was unable to leave the fort because if they lost a single soldier, it would be a massive gain for the enemy. This siege ended when Montbarron and her party killed Gresh and entered the fort, victorious.
Trivia[]
- Not all two hundred legionnaires are stationed in Fortress Kroth at one time. At least twenty are stationed in a legion tower just up a cliff not far from the fortress. (All soldiers in the tower died during the first battle).
- Many legion lives would have not been lost if the Fort had better prepared. But the scouts actions can be justified because the Seck had not been seen in Ehb for a few hundred years.
- It is interesting to note that both battles for Fortress Kroth are between the 10th Legion and the Seck.
