I tire of Molochi’s preaching. To be perfectly honest, I’ve never cared for any god, let alone his new nameless deity. I’ve always longed to believe in a higher power, but I find the notion so… preposterous. The endless chanting, the divine rhetoric—it can all be quite the bore.
Of course, I dare not reveal my little secret. If Molochi and his zealots knew that I, their High Inquisitor, was a non-believer, I might find myself in the steely embrace of my own infernal machines. Wouldn’t that be a sight!
But I am not a man of faith—I am a professional—and I must admit that I enjoy my work. Speaking of which, I should get back to it, I have an appointment with a jolly whale of a monk named Hiram. Let us see if he can keep that renowned smile after a few hours with me.
