A Skeleton Archer
The Skeleton Archer is a low level skeletal enemy encountered in the earlier stages of Dungeon Siege.
General[]
The Skeleton Archer is the ranged attacker for the legions of skeletons staining the land. With no armour to protect the archers bare bones he is very vulnerable to all forms of attack. Wielding a bow possibly kept from its previous mortal life, the archer now serves as an undying sentinel in its undead existence, serving what ever vile powers control its soul. Archers can often be found providing ranged support to their skeletal brothers such as the Skeleton Guard and Skeleton Captain.
Attack[]
Though very weak and vulnerable the archer finds its strength in numbers. A group of anywhere from one to half a dozen or so can be found by unlucky adventurers and this is where they pose their greatest threat, in a group. Though only equipped with a bow, this Skeletal ranger can send a fair few flying your way in a small space of time, if he is accompanied by a few more of his ranged kin they will rapidly eat away at a players health and overwhelm them if caught off guard. Though they may be a threat in numbers, this can also work to your advantage. As they tend to group very close any are of effect or splash damage weapons can potentially fell multiple arches in a single cast or blow.
Their weapon is the Short Recurve. It deals 10-16 damage and has no requirements, making it an excellent bow for newbies.
Trivia[]
- Though wielding a bow the skeleton has no quiver in which to store the arrows needed, the arrows seem to magically appear. (Though this is true for all bows and Crossbows in the game.)
- This enemy has a souped-up form in the Skeleton Ranger.
