The Sword of Zaramoth was crafted by the Utgards for Zaramoth and was imbued with their souls to serve as his tool to help crush their age-old enemies the Agallans. Zaramoth wielded this sword in his campaign to gain complete control over Aranna. Eventually when Zaramoth came into conflict with Azunai who had a shield specially forged by the Agallans to combat Zaramoth and his sword's immense power. When the two finally met on the battlefield the force of the Sword of Zaramoth and the Shield of Azunai clashing brought about the First Cataclysm and shattering the Shield of Azunai into the Four Aegis. The sword was then taken by the Cinbri to the mountain fortress of Zaramoth's Horns where it would by hidden for centuries.
Eventually it was found by a prince from the Nothern Reaches names Valdis who claimed it for himself believing himself to be Zaramoth Reborn and he would wield it to create the Morden Army to help him in his Conquest of Aranna and his search for the Four Aegis. Eventually the sword was shattered when it clashed with a reforged Shield of Azunai from the Four Aegis and the Lost Fragment which shattered the Sword of Zaramoth and caused the Second Cataclysm. The pieces of the sword would then be taken by the Overmage of the Cinbri who used the shards of the sword and magic collected by rogue mages and dryads to fuse his soul with the soul of Zaramoth and the shards of the sword to become Zaramoth Reborn.
