The Creator Gods are ancient, divine beings credited with the creation of Aranna and its earliest inhabitants. Though their existence is shrouded in mystery, their influence persists through myths, relics, and their celestial servants.

Origins[]

According to ancient lore, the Creator Gods descended from the heavens for reasons unknown. They shaped the world of Aranna, populating it with various races and creatures. Their initial creations were shapeshifting beasts, which they later sought to control by creating the Dakkenweyr. However, the Dakkenweyr proved unreliable, leading the gods to abandon them. Subsequently, the Creator Gods fashioned the first humans, who imposed fixed forms upon the beasts.

The gods also brought forth other races, including the Utraeans, Utgards, Goblins, Droog, and Elves. Their celestial servants, the fiery Archons and the numerous Daevas, remained in Aranna after the gods' departure, continuing to influence the world in subtle ways. Some Archons integrated into mortal societies, while others wandered the celestial planes in search of their lost masters.

Dungeon Siege III[]

In Dungeon Siege III, the legacy of the Creator Gods is explored through characters and events that reveal their enduring impact on Aranna.

Nagog[]

Nagog is depicted as a green crystal that fell from the sky, landing in the hands of a shaman from the First People. This crystal, known as the Heart of Nagog, is believed to house the essence of the god. Nagog befriended the First People, but his fall from the heavens left him mortally wounded. Before his demise, he bestowed the Heart of Nagog upon them—a powerful artifact capable of healing allies, harming enemies, and even resurrecting the dead

Corrupted Creator[]

The Corrupted Creator is a malformed remnant of a deceased Creator God, summoned twice by Jeyne Kassynder in 1264 and 1294. This entity exists simultaneously in two realms, struggling to maintain its form. Its summoning serves as a pivotal moment in the game's narrative, culminating in a climactic battle.

Servants of the Creator Gods[]

The Creator Gods were served by two primary celestial beings:

  • Archons: Spirits of fire who acted as messengers and executors of the gods' will. Some mortals claim descent from Archons, though such lineages are considered extinct.
  • Daevas: Numerous and powerful entities who formed the gods' armies. Their presence continues to be felt in Aranna, even millennia after the gods' departure.

Legacy[]

The influence of the Creator Gods endures through various aspects of Aranna's culture and history. The Radiant Youth, a mysterious figure guiding the player, refers to himself as a mere echo of the gods' power, indicating their lasting impact.

Additionally, the Empire of Stars claimed descent from the Archons, further illustrating the gods' pervasive legacy.
