Travel to Lang is a secondary quest on the Utraean Peninsula, the multiplayer world in Dungeon Siege.

Description[]

Priest Tas of Meren will refer those Marked with Fire to the town of Lang as soon as the Meren Townstone is secure. Like Elddim, which is nearly adjacent to it, the Lang Mire region has direct routes long and short to most of the Peninsula's settlements. The fastest way to Lang is to just take the H.U.B., but it requires level 25. If you do not satisfy the level requirement, the storyline route (quotation below) leading into the Cloud Forest will help rectify that.

"I'll tell you how to get to the town of Lang from here, but I bet you won't stay there long. If you look along the southern cliff, you will find an old lift. Take that up to the top and follow the road. It winds south through the Cloud Forest for a goodly distance. There's an abandoned mining outpost you'll come across. Go through that and eventually you will come to Lang Mire. Follow the boardwalks and you'll reach Lang proper in good time."
―Default Meren NPC Directions

Lang's Priestess Janeira is a founding member of the Utraean Historical Society and an intimidating witch. She perceives more about The Utraean Circle than her colleagues and already has the Mosquito Stone. She will give it to you directly along with a barrage of warnings when you flash your Signet Ring; therefore, there is no "Lang Townstone" quest.

Dialogue[]

Utraean Priest Tas
  • "...Very well then, you should find your way to Lang. Priestess Janeira will be waiting for you. She may have been a founding member of the Utraean Circle Society, but she is still a witch through and through, and will be watching you wherever you go."
  • "Priestess Janeira will have my head on a platter if you keep dallying. The sun hasn't come out in months; I could swear she's behind it. Blasted witch."
Swamp Tracker, Lang/Utrae boundary
  • "Seeking yer fortunes in the murky waters of Lang Mire, are ye? Ye'll know this place is seething with danger, then, with only the gods-know-what lurking beneath the muck. I'd never be out this way meself, 'cept someone has to wipe the signs clear of mold and trim the wicks on the torches. Lang is a goodly trudge west o' here. Jes follow yer nose -- them torches burn pure troll fat, an' it stinks worse then a swamp witch's breath."
Utraean Priestess Janeira
  • "Ahh, Priestess Kelti spoke to me in my dreams about you. That fool, Priest Lagreth of Fallraen, tried and failed to steal the Lang Mosquito Stone for his own uses. I hear a band of Furoks rewarded him well for his shenanigans. Ha! The old goat seems to think all will be milk and honey once the Circle is built, but mark my words, the man is too senile to remember even what month it is. I have tried to warn the Society, but they do not listen to old witches like they should."
  • "Aye, I have the Lang Mosquito Stone, and I will give it to you, but take note: all is not as it seems in the Utraean Peninsula."
  • "The Stone is yours for the taking to do with what you like. Go ahead and place it in the Circle in Hiroth; it will happen inevitably. You might survive it, you might not, but you'll never know if you don't take it and find out."
  • "Very well, you accept. It is high time the Utraean Society learned not to meddle in things they do not understand. I admit my visions are cloudy, but I fear the omens have been ill lately."
  • "I've frightened you, have I? Well, good. You seemed a tad too cocky there, my friend. Never embark on a journey without being prepared for the worst, that's what I always say! Now then, go to Quillrabe and have a draught of ale next to the river Iliarth. I'm sure it will cheer you up, and you can speak with Utraean Priest Ferdl while you are there."
