The Vodyanoi are malign spirits that inhabit the watery regions of the Mournweald and Sandspring Cavern. These entities are infamous throughout the Eastern Forest for their eerie appearance and their vicious attacks on anyone who ventures too close. Hunters who lose their way in the woods often fall victim to the vodyanoi, unable to match their deadly combination of ranged and melee combat skills.
Despite living in water, vodyanoi have the ability to leap from it when they sense danger, making them formidable opponents both in and out of their element.
Population Growth[]
The vodyanoi are said to perpetuate their species by passing their eggs through otherworld rifts, implanting them into our dimension. Their Brood Mothers are the primary caretakers of these eggs and hold the responsibility of continuing the vodyanoi lineage.
Types[]
The vodyanoi vary in appearance depending on their location:
- Mournweald Vodyanoi: Skinny, blue, and small-sized, these spirits are nimble and adept at blending into their watery surroundings.
- Sandspring Cavern Vodyanoi: Golden-yellow and much larger, these vodyanoi stand at approximately 1.5 times the height of a human, making them significantly more intimidating.
